Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event that will be open from one thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:
- A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
- Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
- Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
- It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”
This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.
This week’s theme is
RECREATION (Any spot that you would go for a break – Parks, resorts, even a library 😉 )
I had to search for this high and low. After reading an entire book and finding nothing satisfactory I picked the second book and found this snippet, eventually.
PS: The Linky should be up next week. Also, please give me some suggestions for themes. Pretty Please!
My THURSDAY THEME for RECREATION is here.
When we returned from the park, Nana had already put Little Alex to bed. She was back sitting on the porch. I’d brought a pint of pralines and cream and a pint of Oreos and cream.
Taken from page 120 “The Big Bad Wolf” by “James Patterson”

Well, even if it took you two books, you found a great example! Its themes like this that make me really glad I am using a Kindle! Just had to do a search for the word “park” and it found me an example from further into the book I’m reading. 😀

I thought this would be too hard for me this week, but I was able to find one. My answer is here
Love the park!

Wow, this was a hard one! But, I’m sorry, no park or anything remotely close in my book this week 😦

Wow! This was the toughest one so far I think and I’ve failed miserably! Love your snippet though – especially the Oreos… mmmm

The Book Gatherer did not fail. It fit the theme. I love yours only now I want ice cream and it only 8 am. Does ice cream count for breakfast? It has milk. LOL.
Mine is from a spoof of a Disney vacation.

This one was really hard, considering what my book is about. I finally found something that will work for this theme though.

Good theme.
Here’s my Post for this week.
This was a tough one… I didn’t think I’d find anything on the book I’m reading but then I remembered it contained a snippet about one of my favorite places to just walk around. 😀

Good job! Unbelievable that it took two books to find, although it did take me awhile to find it too. Here is mine: http://hardcoverfeedback.blogspot.com/2011/08/theme-thursday-recreation.html
