Theme Thursdays [Shapes] – 16Jun11

Theme Thursdays

Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event that will be open from one thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:

  • A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
  • Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
  • Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
  • It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”

This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.

This week’s theme is

SHAPES

My THURSDAY THEME for SHAPES is here. I initially didn’t find it though I was sure I would find a ’round’ or ‘star’ just when I was thinking of using ‘curls’ as a shape, I found this after almost 40 pages of reading (ahem!).

The sun was shining through the trees into the perfectly square tree house window, making shadows dance in the tree house wall. It was a happy day, one of her very own memories. Even when Billy admitted he didn’t remember it, she knew it had happened just like he said.

    Good readings!

    • Kavyen…

Hummmm the whole book is about a kid which lives afraid of everything trying to loose his fears through this story that takes place in Fantasy so most of the places in the story seem very scary and with great dangers everywhere… this place is not the most scary in the book but i think it can be the most dangerous because it almost makes the story go on and on forever (i mean, the story can re-strart and when it gets to that point it will always start again)… it would be an ending without an end!

  12. This took some searching for, but that was ok, because it gave me an excuse to read some more of my book!!
