Theme Thursdays [Vehicle] – 10Mar11

Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event that will be open from one thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:

  • A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
  • Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
  • Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
  • It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”

This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.

This week’s theme is – VEHICLE

My THURSDAY THEME for VEHICLE

I grew up in this old Travco RV I call Y.
As in Y do I have to live in this mobile home?

Taken from “Hollywood Nobody” by “Lisa Samson”

PS: Sorry about the delay in getting this out this week!

  1. Cute! I’d probably like this book a lot!

    Here’s mine:

  2. I thought this might be difficult considering I’m reading about Ancient Britain but found the perfect sentence.

    Here’s mine: http://cat-bookmagic.blogspot.com/2011/03/theme-thursday.html

  3. This theme is fun and can be challenging to find the theme in our particular books. I knew this book mentioned something a few pages back but I continued onward and found the quote I used in my Theme Thursday Post.

  4. Kavyen, that must be horrible for the child! “Y”

  5. Yikes that would suck.

I was worried this week since I’m reading Jane Eyre, so I hope a coach counts as a vehicle 🙂

    Mine is HERE

  6. I’m really having fun with this meme each week. This week I knew the perfect sentence but it was only a matter of finding it back!

    Here you go:

I’m going to check the rest of yours now.

  7. This looks like a good book. BTW, this is a really fun meme. My post is here

  8. That is a great one for this week’s theme! I had a hard time finding one. My post will be up later this afternoon & then I’ll come back and and the URL….

  9. Lol! Looks like a fun book. This week’s theme was perfect for the book I’m reading. It’s all about an attempted murder related to a train journey.

    Here it is: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2011/03/hosted-by-reading-between-pages-rules.html

  10. Ahh! I love that picture of Mater you have up there! Great theme this week! Here’s mine: http://simpleloveofreading.blogspot.com/2011/03/theme-thursday-3.html

  11. This weeks theme was not a difficult choice as I was a huge fan of the late Ayrton Senna.

Looking forward to reading all the other selections.

  12. Lol – that’s pretty funny! I had to get a little inventive with mine, it’s set before there were motorized vehicles 😉

    Fathers Day
