Theme Thursdays [BirthDate] – 08Mar12

Theme Thursdays

Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event that will be open from one thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:

  • A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
  • Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
  • Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
  • It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”

This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.

March is going to be all about making life easy. This month we will do ‘Pick what you see first‘ themes.

Open the book you are reading –> Open the page number that has your birthdate (I was born on the 3rd so that is Page 3) –> pick the first sentence from it and post the snippet. Sorry, but ‘No Ebooks’ this time as well. With this week’s theme, we will also get to know your birthdate 🙂

BIRTHDATE – First snippet from the page that is your birthdate

My THURSDAY THEME for BIRTHDATE is here. I was born on the 3rd so here is my sentence from Page 3.

From Page 3:
Regan Reilly shivered as she padded around the kitchen of her in-laws’ summer home.

Taken from page 3 “Wrecked” By Carol Higgins Clark

  1. Why is Regan shivering? Is something going to happen?

Never read anything by Carol, is she better than her mom?

    Here is mine http://srivallip.blogspot.com/2012/03/theme-thursday_08.html

  2. I was reading an ebook from an author, so I had to pick up the next “real book” I had in line to read for this. So I haven’t gotten to this page yet. 😉

    Here’s my snippet: http://angiesangelsrkids-furkids.blogspot.com/2012/03/theme-thursdays-is-fun-weekly-event_08.html

  3. Definitely an easy theme for the week! I used the two books I’m currently reading today 🙂

  4. Oh, I must read this one! I love Mary Higgins Clark’s books and I’ve always wanted to read one of Carol’s.

  5. Yay for another easy one! Here’s mine:

  6. Shivering from the cold? Shivering in anticipation? Hmmm.

  7. This is fun! Haha. Though the first book I opened page 25 was a map-drawing… I got a decent line at my second try with : “Standing under the imploring gaze of the woman who, it could be argued, ruined my life, you’d think I might exercise more caution.” From Strange Flesh by Michael Olson.
