Theme Thursdays [Ending Words] – 27Oct11

Theme Thursdays

Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event that will be open from one thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:

  • A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
  • Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
  • Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
  • It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”

This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.

For a change I think I will go ahead and publish the next month’s themes in advance as well.

ENDING WORDS (Pick 2 snippets that have matching last 2 words i.e if one sentence has WIFE the other should have LIFE or KNIFE etc)

My THURSDAY THEME for ENDING WORDS is here. I used my eReader to find the word this time, was way easier!!

A chill seeped into the fabric of her surprisingly thin work costume, settling on her skin. She smelled snow in the air.

Once it was unlocked, she leaned against the car to finish telling her sister not only no, but hell no.

  2. I’m afraid I can’t participate this week again. I’m still reading a portuguese translation…

But I’m good to go in November no matter what I’ll be reading…

Your snippets are great, especially the second one.

  3. This was a tough one, I’m not all that impressed by my own find…but, what ‘cha gonna do? lol

  4. Looks like a hard one this week…or maybe people are as busy as I am and will chime in later.
