Theme Thursdays [Weather] – 21Apr11

Theme Thursdays

Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event that will be open from one thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:

  • A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
  • Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
  • Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
  • It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”

This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.

The randomly selected theme for this week is suggested by Landslide from So Many Books So Little Time and Marla from Starting the Next Chapter.

And this week’s theme is ……..

My THURSDAY THEME for WEATHER is below. I am using the same book as last week as I could not complete it (Blame it on the flu) Sigh!

Fortunately Father was oblivious. Even another sudden flash of lightning, followed by a sharp crack and a long roll of thunder, did not pull him back to the present.
Taken from page 204 – “The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie” by “Alan Bradley”

  4. How about “mood” as a theme. It can relate to a person’s mood or the mood in the story.

  5. I hope you’ll feel better soon, I love your choice for this theme. Here is mine:

  6. Ugh so sorry to hear you have the flu. That’s totally lame!

(And I’d still like to put a plug in for a theme where you find a place in your book that mentions books.)

  18. O I love that one. Makes me think of the Wizard of Oz for some reason.
